The need for businesses to migrate from Microsoft Windows XP and Windows 2000 to Windows 7 in a short time period is creating new demand for IT Professionals, it has been reported.
According to research consultancy Gartner, companies are now looking to upgrade their IT systems to ensure they remain on a par with their rivals. Moving to the latest Windows operating system is a key priority for many firms, and this means that demand for IT expertise is likely to exceed supply during 2011 and 2012.
Charles Smulders, managing vice- president at Gartner, said large and midmarket companies are expected to upgrade around 250 million PCs to Windows 7 over the next couple of years.
Companies will need to recruit IT professionals quickly and within budget. The best solution is to use an experienced IT Recruitment Agency. With the IT Recruitment market set for a boost, an upward trend is also likely show in contractor pay rates.
Microsoft will support Windows XP for four more years but most migrations will start in the fourth quarter of 2010 and so this is when it is expected for the demand for IT professionals will rise.
